Mike Murena Luvsick Project

Luvsick Video

Time for a new post! I’m proud to announce another music video for Mike Murena and his new song called Luvsick.

For the first time I give up the Green Screen for the production. Even the on site recordings are not from myself, but what breathtaking material! In July 2020 a crop circle appeared near the Bavarian Ammersee. Mike decided to use this unique location for the shoot of his music video Luvsick. It’s about an outer space love affair and the mysterious unworldly cereals appearance fit perfect to this music output.

You can create great thinks with the studio screen, but i must admit that a one site recording will win for sure. It looks way more realistic and I claim that it’s less complex than a recording on a small 2x3m green screen.

The longest music video I`ve ever made has been created. Also the most cuts were done.

Learned many new things. The imported ones were the stronger video orientation on the base of the music and the usage of color gradings.

A great new intuition was the embedding of the lyrics. My first intention was the i use Apple Motion for that, but realized fast that this is to costly. So i search for the easier and faster option..

Found a nice affordable lyrics plugin for Final Cut from FxFactory. That did the job quite well. It’s fastly installed and easy to use. It comes with many presets and motions for the text, which can be customized with individual fonts, colors and text positions. Even if i should switch from Final Cut to a Adobe product, it’s still compatible with Premiere and After Effects. That’s a awesome service and made about 50$ a fair price for me.

Sky of Blood Promo Pic Project

Sky Of Blood

This corona situation got not only bad sides.. Many good sides, too! I started at the ending of march the collaboration with Mike Murena. Now after some fading time, i got something new from the music video factory: A collaboration with Fear The Fear in the song Sky Of Blood.

Michaela is the name of the artist behind the Fear The Fear project. She’s the producer and the lead musician. Beside the passionate guitar arts, she also sang herself. But for Sky of Blood a new direction was taken. She wrote the inital lyrics, but found out early that it can’t be sung in person.

So the original plan to make a music video got expanded for myself. I’m responsible for the music video production as well as the vocal part. Some proposed amendments to the lyrics were given and jointly revised.

It was a really awesome day in the studio of Michaela. Got a nice Shure SM 7B studio microphone which captured myself very good. Several tracks in different ways were sung. Thanks to the great logic skills and sens of hearing of Michaela – We picked the best ones and cut most of everything in a single work day out of it. That was part one.

Now we will start with the movie! The song Sky Of Blood is about the revolution of the little peoples against the elite. The first idea was to show a larger group of peoples in one collusion. But it was quickly recognised that this would be too costly for the time being. So we decided to mix green screen and live captures from a spooky location. Hell Yeah! Found a really cool one – That was an adventure to a really secret place which offers oppressive atmosphere!

After the Indiana Jones part was done, we started with the green screen session. And i must say: WHAT AN TWIST! Nothing spooky remained, think we laughed the whole recording day. Very very pleasant working person! Teamwork from outer space! See by yourself:

So after some fun – it’s time to checkout the final music video! \m/

MetalCrew Community PWA App Screen Project

PWA MetalCrew

As I told you before, I am a member of the MetalCrew Community. This has grown a lot lately with the Crewsade of Metal festival. So now they need something new: An uniform place for all mobile devices where news, songs of the weeks, reviews and more can be checked out. I spent some time thinking about how to handle this? Because i am the sole developer, i need something simple and not too time-consuming to maintain… For my luck i remembered that google presented something some time ago: The PWA.

That was the thing! To solve the problem told i decided to invent a Progressive Web Application. It’s easy to develop and cross platform compatible, because the PWA is basically a website which is opened by a browser.

In contrast to my already developed Android App EOTD (See EOTD Game), i’m not depended from Google or Apple. I can release update whenever i want. No publication processes, so I am very flexible.

As framework i picked VUE, because i have the opportunity to develop with TypeScript which got awesome debugging features. So in conclusion: I got a strange collection based on Javascript. Feeling like home! πŸ™‚

Things like the service worker and it’s behavior got good documented by Google. After some hours of work i’m proud to present a new digital creation.

Mike Murena Rebel Rebel David Bowie Preview Project

Rebel Rebel Video

On the 28. March 2020 a collaboration with the musician Mike Murena established to cover the song Rebel Rebel from the rock star David Bowie.

I had the opportunity for directing the first music video of Mike and myself.

Everything got done with 2 spotlights and a manageable greenscreen. For the video cutting i used Final Cut, which made made things like the embedding of backgrounds very easy to handle.

The only challenge was to find good positions for the light emitter and the whole camera work. You have to be careful not to get the focus out of the green screen, but from experience one learns πŸ˜€ See for yourself what came of it!

Crewsade 19 Logo Project

Crewsade of Metal

On the 12.04.2017 the MetalCrew Community founded the non-profit association MetalCrew Kultur e.V. in the China Express restaurant Munich at the Stachus to create a legal basis for own events like the so called Crewsade of Metal.

Michael was among others appointed to the board of directors. On the 06. May 2017 the first huge festival called Crewsade of Metal started.

Besides great planning challenges, the first collaborations with real artists were received. Michael has taken over the management board position and especially the marketing.

Handmade drawings from the artists were converted to digital media and prepared for printing. Soon an own shop was created and opened: https://shop.spreadshirt.de/metalcrew/

The whole web presence is build and hosted by Michael.

Of course a festival is only a festival if there is some merchandise. So we decided that a Crusaders will be our logo. Chris Erbar implemented the first sketch for this purpose. Tamara Fichter improved that, especially in the hand. And i made the final part, that the drawing on the paper gets in a digital format and prepared for a print. My knowledge from the already finished Stay Heavy Shirt Project was for my benefit. A huge crusader logo on the front and the logos of the bands on the back side were placed. See the result here:

After the mile of the successful completion of the first festival an after movie was created by myself on the base of the photographer media.

Aftermovie Crewsade of Metal 2017

The Crewsade of Metal has established itself as an annual festival and made a successful switch from munich to the home town of the most members Pfaffenhofen a. d. Ilm.

Claw Band Sample Chains & Leather Project

Chains & Leather

With Chains & Leather the first song of the Thrash Metal project CLAW based in Munich appeared.

It was born of the idea with a friend of mine, that we could jam a little bit in the cellar of a girlfriend. After some time and additional members we decided in the November 2018 that we could record our first song: Chains & Leather.

On a single day we finished the recording session. The band Sacrifice In Fire helped us very much with their studio, technic and Powers existing recording + guitar knowledge.

As seen in the header picture i played guitar. But that was only in the initial phase of the band. After some guitarists showed up, we decided that i should switch to the part of the singer so we could move on.

You are interested in the result. So check out the lyrics video πŸ˜€

Wire4Fire W4F Logo Project

Wire4Fire

Wire4Fire is your inbox of a slightly different kind!

Besides the renunciation of user data evaluation, of course there will be no advertising. Additionally, this is an exclusive area reserved for selected users.

Everything is based on the Domain w4f.de, which is short and plays something with WTF?!

Technically everything was implemented with a compound of the Postfix mail server and Dovecot as Mail Delivery Agent. So mails can be send and viewed by the clients via POP3 and IMAP.

A web interface would be useful, too. So i decided to install Roundcube, because it’s free, open source, powerful and easy to configure.

MetalCrew Stay Heavy Shirt Shooting Mihe Project

Stay Heavy Shirt

After the MetalCrew was founded 2015, we decided quickly that some merchandise is needed. A shirt which represents us and gives a little insight in the community. I though a skull and the “Stay Heavy” phrase used from time to time would be the best. And I was right, the slogan quickly became the moth of the association. The Stay Heavy Shirt is a huge success!

I started the design with the photo program Affinity Photo. Naturally the focus was on the market leader Photoshop from Adobe first, but I could not get used to the new abo model. Of course it is nice to get always the newest versions, but in my use case it don’t represents my needs and generates unnecessary additional costs. I’m just a simple man who wants to make something creative for a weekend and then I will often close the program for months..

So after some learning and handcraft I made the following designs:

It’s really simply constructed on the back like a team shirt for other associations. The logo of the MetalCrew Community, our advertisement slogan and a link to the webpage.

Opposite on the front is shaped by the designed skull with some smoke effects on the back.. Underlined with the already mentioned slogan. It remains me a bit of a band shirt, but modified for a community.

You can imagine, that I don’t own a printing press. Even if I had one, I wouldn’t have the time. So i researched on the world wide web to find a firm who could handle this and made a find. Spreadshirt from Leipzig was optimal for my needs! They are in my home country, take over the entire ordering and printing process and do not charge extra for it. Only for orders a share is deducted. Even the shop is hosted by them – Really easy!

If you are interested in this little shirt and more so take a look at the club shop πŸ™‚

MetalCrew Homepage Preview Project

MetalCrew Project

On 09.03.2015 the MetalCrew community for fans of alternative music styles was founded in Ingolstadt with schoolfriends.

Some more trailers were found quickly, which caused an own homepage on the 17. June in the same year. The technical planning and implementation was carried out by Rammrocker alone.

Beside the communication over the homepage and real life meetings, Rammrocker programmed an Android App on the 30.08.2015 which was supplemented by a Windows Phone variant a few months later. Everything got released in the Microsoft and Google Play store.

In this project, the artistic side was lived out for the first time. Rammrocker created designs for t-shirts which were professionally printed and distributed among members.

The main focus on this project is the interplay of messengers and other online platforms. Everything was based on a WhatsApp group and the whole idea became bigger than initially thought, so new mediums got wanted.

To simplify the connection to the webpage with a mobile device. I made a basic MetalCrew Android App, which opens the website. It’s a cool thing, but only slightly better to handle..

Since the ending of 2019 a new smartphone app is programmed to get a similar cross platform base for all smartphones. There will follow a new project entry with more details, when the app is ready. (See: MetalCrew App)

EOTD Escape of the developers Android Smartphone App Project

EOTD Game App

The Escape of the developer (Short EOTD) project aims to create a 2D game application that will increase the interest of the new generation of application developers in a humorous way. The goal will be to move a character to a certain point at the end of the room without coming into contact with other characters. It’s a simple mixture of the temple run principle with SouthPark inspired graphics.

The whole EOTD project got programmed in the language JAVA by Sun Microsystems – Now Oracle and the Android Studio IDE.

Currently the game has only one level, but the basic game logic is implemented. Maybe there will be more levels anytime in the future, but for now have fun with this small thing πŸ˜‰
